Optalert firma su primer acuerdo de distribución (Oct 2008)

On Tuesday October 21st 2008, Optalert signed its first distribution and agency agreement with Teknos S. A., a Chilean company based in Santiago. Teknos will bring Optalert’s offer both to mining and road transport, and will help us develop our company in South America.

Teknos has operated in Chile and South America since 1975, and has been a relevant player in the telecommunications, information technology and security markets.

With 70 employees, Teknos’ core business is System Integration of Communication and Security Technology for enterprises, offering a broad range of products and services, to provide comprehensive solutions for their needs of voice, data and security. Its 33 years of experience in the telecommunication and security markets allow Teknos to deliver complex solutions in the areas of CCTV, Access Control, IP Telephony, Mobility, Presence, Collaboration, Call Centre and Networking, transforming them in concrete benefits to their customers.

Teknos has been trained on the Optalert portfolio. Don Cameron, our Support and Implementation Manager ran several sessions for 7 Teknos engineers. Teknos was glad to become Optalert’s Ambassador in South America. Also, some joint actions have already been developed: we spent 4 days at Escondida mine site (a BHP copper mine in Chile). During our visit we invited a Teknos engineer to be involved in the installation of our product on several mine trucks. Teknos and Optalert are a natural fit for each other.

Teknos is currently empowering its Security technology platform offer and this new alliance has been perceived as very good news by Optalert’s customers in South America. The agreement will provide Teknos and its clients with extended opportunities, and will give Optalert the strength of being associated with one of the most experienced companies in telecommunications in the region.
